Becoming a Member

We are always looking for people interested in joining our organization.

Who Can Join?

Any student who believes in the importance of serving the community may become a member of the Alpha Iota chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma, provided that such student meets the campus regulations governing participation in student organizations.

Benefits of Joining

There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization. Our members are close friends and we have a great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause.

How Can You Join?

If you are interested please contact our pledgemom Kari Billman. (see below for email) The sorority has a pledge class every fall and spring semester.

If you are thinking about joining the Alpha Iota chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma, we'd love to have you!

Pledge Requirements
In order to pledge Gamma Sigma Sigma, you must:
* Pay dues
* Wear your pledge pin 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
* Check in at the greek office every day
* 20 hours of service through the sorority
* Do two safewalks
* Attend two social events
* Serve on one committee
* Attend weekly general meetings
* Attend weekly plege meetings
* Pass pledge test with 70% or higher

Member Requirements
Once you have become a member, you will still have to:
* Attend weekly general meetings
* Pay national and chapter dues
* Do two Safewalks per semester
* Serve on one committee per semester
* Attend one social event per semester
* Do 20 hours of service per semester

Make lots of new friends

What do I get for all of this?
Of course, there are benefits to joining our organization:
* Meet lots of new people
* Make new friends, and sisters
* Learn to work as a team to accomplish a goal
* Learn effective time management skills
* Get leadership opportunities
* Give back to the community
